About Me
Derek, a remarkable individual, embodies the spirit of resilience and empowerment. As a United States Marine Corps (USMC) veteran, educator, community advocate, Certified peer support specialist/coach, career coach and consultant, crisis intervention specialist, and a trauma informed Life Coach, Certified Peer Visitor amputee, and adult transracial adoptee and consultant, Derek's life has been filled with diverse experiences. This is the story of his journey, as he overcame adversity to make a lasting impact on the lives of others.
Early Life and Military Service:
Derek's early life was marked by challenges. As an adult adoptee, he navigated the complexities of identity and belonging. However, he found purpose and a sense of belonging when he joined the USMC. Serving with unwavering dedication, Derek exemplified the values of discipline, loyalty, and perseverance.
Rebuilding and Education:
After his military service, Derek embarked on a mission to rebuild his life. He pursued higher education, driven by a desire to make a positive impact on others.
